Daniela and Julianna in my mind, are sisters. Though different in beautiful ways, they both share a spirit of love, awareness, and sympathy.
Daniela radiates love through her eyes. She says they change color throughout the day, but never dull in their richness and vitality. In addition to this, her tongue and speech sometimes chime through my head throughout the day. Her accent from Spain will always resonate with me. Mucho amor, bonita, y hasta luego, she often says when we part. (Much love, pretty one, until next time.)
Julianna summons strength. Her gaze is dynamic and unafraid. If you truly listen to her, your heart can change, if you want it to. She represents and seeks justice--a modern, female superhero. I'd prefer not to speak of her, rather encourage one to seek her out yourself.
Womyn don't need to be perfect. What is particularly striking about both of these individuals is their fearlessness to be vulnerable. Este hermanas aren't afraid of their sensitivities, markers of their humanity--their imperfections. The lasting impression that they leave on me, and that I've attempted to capture in these photos is their zeal to face and trumpet the truth. And to do this, has been more attention to texture during late night edits.
